✨CANDLE SAFETY FOR SENSITIVE PETS✨
Are your candles safe to use around pets?
Yes! All of our candles are made with phthalate- and toxin-free fragrance oils, coconut soy wax, and lead- and zinc-free cotton wicks to ensure a cleaner burn. However, every pet is unique, and some animals may still be sensitive to scents.
What signs should I watch for if my pet is sensitive to candles?
Keep an eye out for these possible reactions:
- 🤧 Coughing or sneezing
- 👀 Itchy skin or eyes
- 😴 Unusual lethargy or restlessness
- 🍽️ Changes in appetite
- 🤢 Upset stomach
If you notice any of these, discontinue use and check in with your vet. ❤️

🐾 Happy Candle Co. Pet-Friendly Candle Guide 🐾
Although we use high-quality fragrance oils and strive to carefully select the cleanest ones that are free of phthalates and other toxins, some scents contain citrus or herbal notes that pets may be sensitive to. Always burn in well-ventilated spaces and monitor your pets.
⸻
✅ Safer Notes (Pet-Friendlier)
• Sweet, bakery-style scents (vanilla, butterscotch, caramel, creamy desserts)
• Tropical fruits (banana, mango, peach – no added citrus oils)
• Soft gourmand blends (maple, sweet almond, warm sugar)
⸻
⚠️ Use With Caution
• Floral blends (rose, jasmine, lavender – may be mild irritants)
• Fruity blends with citrus undertones (lemon, lime, orange)
• Spicy or woody notes (cinnamon, clove, musk, sandalwood)
• Tropical/cocktail-style blends containing citrus or strong fruits
⸻
❌ Not Recommended for Pets
• Strong citrus oils (lemon, lime, orange, bergamot)
• Herbal/mint oils (eucalyptus, sage, peppermint, wintergreen)
• Lavender in concentrated form
• Clove, ylang-ylang, or tea tree
We believe that creating a cozy, aromatic space should never come at the expense of your pet’s well-being. While many scents bring joy and comfort, some ingredients can be irritating—or even harmful—to our furry companions. That’s why we carefully curate our fragrance blends with safety in mind, prioritizing gentle, pet-friendlier notes whenever possible.
